The Tarkio Elementary third grade students, with the help from four high school juniors, performed a parachute routine Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the Tarkio Activity Center. The routine, under the direction of Melody Barnett, was performed to Top Gun classics “Great Balls of Fire” and “Danger Zone.” This was the 48th time a parachute routine was performed by Tarkio Elementary students. The routine began with P.E. teacher Nancy Barrett in 1975 and has become a much-loved tradition whose participants now number around 1,000!
The Tarkio Elementary third graders sang “The Star Spangled Banner” at the East Atchison basketball games February 7.
