The national NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships were held over the weekend, March 2-4, in Brookings, South Dakota. Alivia Baucom, a sophomore at Doane University in Crete, Nebraska, competed in the women’s shot put, where she was sitting in 10th place in the nation going in to the meet. On Alivia’s final throw she hit 14.17 meters or 46’ 6”, a personal best, to put her in fifth place overall. Alivia is the daughter of Elinor and Justin Baucom and is a 2021 graduate of Rock Port.
