Hidden Beauty, 119 Main, Tarkio. Hair salon wanting to sell liquor by the drink. Observations/Comments – Meets the minimum requirements for a liquor establishment.

Buttercup Coffee Shop, Flower Mill, 606 Main, Tarkio. Priority Items: None. Core Items: None.

SQRL (formerly Torrey Pines), 401 Hwy. 59 North, Fairfax. Priority Items: Pop reach-in cooler 43ºF (+/- 2º is okay.); beer cave 41º; apple turnover out of oven 239º; milk walk-in cooler 36º; cheese stick 0º – little chest freezer by hand sink; pizza/Delfield freezer -4º; shell egg – True refrigerator 32º; chicken strip – chest freezer by microwave 2º. Core Items: No test kits for sanitizer. Not all refrigerators have thermometers. Draws leaking under 3-bay sink. Duct tape holding door closed on chest freezer by microwave. Kitchen microwave has door handle broken off. Ten of 13 reach-in doors have Bud door gaskets. No paper towels at kitchen hand sink. Ceiling tile missing in restroom.

Daybreak Cafe, 109 Main, Fairfax. Priority Items: Fries – little upright Frigidaire freezer -6º. Core Items: Back room floor is carpeted, not a smooth, non-absorbent surface. Damaged flooring in the kitchen area. Restroom door is not self closing.

KJ’s, Westboro, 304 Main, Westboro. Priority Items: None. Core Items: Excessive frost in Crosley freezer. Restroom door propped open. Damaged ceiling in dining area from roof leaks. Discussed wiping cloths/sanitizer.

Rock Port Golf & Country Club, 18757 225th Street, Rock Port. Priority Items: None. Core Items: No self-closer on restroom doors. No covered trash can in women’s restroom. Dripping drains in bar area. *Meets minimum health requirements for liquor license.

February 23, 2023

El Rey Papi’s, 401 S. Main, Rock Port. Priority Items: PHF’s not held at 41ºF or below. Cook’s prep table: sliced tomatoes 51ºF, cheese 49ºF, mixed peppers and vegetables 51ºF, lettuce 50ºF. Can keep small portions on prep table for food prep with larger portions kept in walk-in at 41º or below. Any remaining small portions after four hours need to be disposed of. Temporary fix only. Prep table must be repaired or replaced by next regular inspection in June. Unlabeled spray bottle (purple liquid). Core Items: Cook’s prep table not maintaining temperature (repair or replace by next regular inspection in June). Tub of sugar (?) not labeled. Scoop with handle in product (sugar?). Cardboard used on shelving (by fryer) not on a non-absorbent surface. Bad door gaskets on cook’s prep table. Exhaust fan dirty (possible fire hazard) dripping grease onto the outside sidewalk. One lid open on the dumpster. *Discussed, per code #3-501.14 PHF’s are to be cooled to 70º within two hours and to less than 41º within the next 4 hours. The 5 gallon buckets of queso cheese sauce have the potential to grow bacteria if not cooled properly. (Smaller/shallower containers, stirring with ice paddles, ice bath, etc.) and temperatures need to be monitored with thermometer. Also best not to use plastic tubs/baskets as plastic holds in heat. Badly damaged flooring throughout kitchen (schedule for replacement – 2 weeks). Damaged wall by 3-bay sink. Unshielded light bulbs in kitchen and back storerooms.

Community Hospital-Fairfax, 26136 Hwy. 59, Fairfax. Priority Items: None. Core Items: Wiping cloth sanitizer too weak.

Dusty Trail, 1300 U.S. Hwy. 136, Rock Port. Pre-reopening inspection for liquor license. Observations/Comments – No handwashing signage at hand sinks, several unlabeled spray bottles. Both will need to be corrected before opening. *Meets the minimum health requirements for liquor license.

Rock Port Nutrition Site, 505 Country Club Drive, Rock Port. Priority Items: Spray wand at dishwasher able to hang below rim of sink – no air gap. Core Items: No covered trash can in women’s restroom. Broken self-closer on women’s restroom door. Unshielded light in back room/dry storage. Discussed food truck delivery and walk-in freezer door latch.

River Rock Lanes, 606 S. Main, Rock Port. Priority Items: None. Core Items: None. Discussed hot holding/time – time control. All good.

Trail’s End, Subway, & Chester Chicken, 1303 U.S. Hwy. 136, Rock Port. Priority Items: PHF’s not held at 135º or above: gravy 117º, baked beans 110º, mashed potatoes 112º in Nemco warmer. Chester Chicken removed/discarded/increased temp setting and will restock (corrected on site). Core Items: Unshielded light bulbs in back room. Hole in wall before disposal area of ware washing.
