The Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) board met April 5, 2023. Present were: Lori Seymour, Roger Martin, WC Farmer, Bob Alldredge, Jill Davis, Eryn Stepp, and Mary Ann Hull, board members; Monica Bailey, director; and Carol Clark, administrative assistant.

Board members approved the February and March meeting minutes.

They also approved the February and March financials as presented.

Director’s Report

Community lunches were held in March. Great information was provided at all three events. Attendance was: Tarkio, 33; Rock Port, 25; and Fairfax, 44.

Countywide Job Shadowing Day for juniors was held March 30. A total of 42 students shadowed at 21 businesses and organizations around the county.

Bailey presented at County Government Day on March 21.

ACDC’s Youth Beautification Grant applications 2023-2024 projects (to be completed July 31, 2024) are available now. Applications are due September 8, and winners will be announced at ACDC’s annual meeting on Wednesday, September 13.

The 2023 Business Improvement Grant program has $15,000 available. Applications will be awarded until all funds are allocated.

Scholarship recipients were selected, and ACDC’s scholarship program was discussed.
