Kelsie Gaines, Jamie Copenharve, Alex Henzel, and Jakob Trosper, Physical and Health Education majors at Peru State College, were recognized as Physical and Health Education Majors of the year and presented research at the 2023 Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) America Conference in Seattle, Washington.

The SHAPE America Conference is highly-regarded for bringing together scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students from around the world to discuss the latest physical and health pedagogical research and trends. Kelsie Gaines, Jamie Copenharve, Alex Henzel, and Jakob Trosper presented their research, “A Collaborative Auto-ethnographic Study: Effective Physical Educators’ Traits & Dispositions a Preservice Perspective” that explores the traits and dispositions associated with effective physical educators.

“I am honored to have had  the opportunity to present at the 2023 SHAPE America conference,” said Kelsie Gaines. “I have put a lot of hard work and dedication into this research. I was excited and nervous to share our findings at a conference that included scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students.”
