Rock Port students gave the crows nest and bleacher handrails a fresh coat of royal blue paint.

RPHS students added a fresh layer of mulch to the playground area at the Rock Port Municipal Park, and planted flowers and cleaned the sign at the entrance to the park.

Weeds were pulled and the sand at the volleyball pit was tilled to ready the court for summer play.

The Rock Port High School FBLA, Peer Counselors and Student Council members recently spent a day at the Rock Port City Park completing projects that students brainstormed during an FBLA Leadership class. Nearly 40 students spent the day painting lines on the basketball court and painting the rims. New metal hoops were also installed. The sand volleyball pit received an overhaul. Weeds were pulled and the sand was tilled to ready the court for summer play. The baseball field got some TLC in the outfield. Trenches were filled in with dirt and tamped down. The pitching mound was revamped. The crows nest and bleacher handrails were given a fresh coat of royal blue paint. Park bathrooms were given new signage. The tennis courts were cleaned and sprayed. The park play area received a new layer of mulch. The park sign was power washed and some flowers were planted. Last, but not least, the entire length of white fencing was power washed.

These kids were rock stars and worked diligently all day. An estimated 240 hours of work were put into our community. Many of the materials needed were paid for through the ACDC Beautification Grant. A huge shout out to Stephanie Parsons, Shauna Farmer and Tawni Ellis for sponsoring this event.
