The 127th graduating class of Fairfax R-3 School was honored at commencement Sunday, May 21, 2023.

Members of the Class of 2023 were Caden Lee Brown, Braden Thomas Graves, Natalie Elizabeth Hedlund, Ethan Irvine, Zackery J.R. King, Braiden Pennel Larson, Charles Thomas Litherbury, Kierra Kay McDonald, Cameron Lee Oswald, Alejandra Mae Ramirez, and Georgia Sue Swinehart.

National Honor Society members were Braden Graves, Natalie Hedlund, Braiden Larson, Kierra McDonald, Cameron Oswald, and Alejandra Ramirez.

Class officers were: Braden Graves, president; Charlie Litherbury, vice-president; Alejandra Ramirez, secretary; Georgia Swinehart, treasurer; and Kierra McDonald and Cameron Oswald, Student Council. Mrs. Marisa Hedlund was the class sponsor.

The seniors’ class motto was “Cherish yesterday, dream tomorrow, live today.” – Richard Bach. The class flower was a white lily and the class color was orange.

Seniors entered the gym as Suzanne Southard played “Pomp and Circumstance.”

Dr. Jeremy Burright, Superintendent, welcomed everyone, and Kierra McDonald gave the senior welcome.

Honor speeches were given by Natalie Hedlund and Braden Graves.

Seniors and their guests enjoyed a video montage of senior remembrances.

Dustin Barnes, K-12 Principal, presented certificates to the eighth grade class. Eighth grade students are: Lexi Adalae Brown, Erin Josephine Eyman, Trenton Lee Frohn, Chase Elliot Gayler, Mason Miles Lewis Kingery, Kenneth Liam Alexander Kirkpatrick, Holly Ruth Ann Litherbury, Alexander Nicholas Martin, Connor Allyn Miller, Piper Journey Jewel Morris, Anna Margaret Ohlensehlen, Carter Reece Oswald, Johnathan Michael Pickard, and Chloe Grace Vernon.

Diplomas were presented to the graduating seniors by Jon Graves, President, Board of Education.

Mr. Barnes presented the senior class.

Cameron Oswald gave the senior good-bye and the seniors exited to their class song, “Wouldn’t It Be Nice?” by The Beach Boys.

Junior class escorts were Jasey Smith and Collin Hedlund. Attendants were Kendal Straub and Trenton Kingery.
