The Rock Port R-II School Board of Education held a special meeting May 26, 2023.

President Regan Griffin called the special meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. in the board room. Other board members in attendance were Joanna Burke, Troy Cook, Reven Herron, Jared Meyerkorth and Kayla Sierks. Member Afton Schomburg was absent. Also present were Superintendent Dr. Ethan Sickels, High School Principal Donnie Parsons, Rex Bollinger, Sage Acorn, Ken Eaton, and Board Secretary Jennifer Welch.

The agenda was adopted. Representatives from Veregy discussed the construction building plan and contract. Action was taken to approve the construction building plan/contract with Veregy.

The meeting was adjourned.

The Rock Port R-II School Board of Education held a regular meeting June 13, 2023.

Board President Regan Griffin called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the board room. Other board members in attendance were Afton Schomburg, Joanna Burke, Jared Meyerkorth, Reven Herron (via Zoom), Troy Cook, and Kayla Sierks. Also present were Superintendent Dr. Ethan Sickels, Board Secretary Jennifer Welch, and guest Rex Bollinger (via Zoom).

The agenda was amended and adopted.

The minutes of the regular meeting of May 11, 2023, were approved. Dr. Sickels reviewed the financial information for the month ending May 2023. The transfer of funds, May final check register, June check register to date, and the activity account checks were approved.

Dr. Sickels presented the monthly program evaluation report on the food service with OPAA!

The board proceeded to address several new items of business. Action was taken to approve the 2022 – 2023 final bus routes, amend the 2022 – 2023 budget to reflect actual expenditures and revenues as of June 30, 2023, approve the 2023 – 2024 Safe Return to In-Person Instruction Plan, approve the 2023 – 2024 Vo-Tech transportation contract, and approve mowing at the football practice field. After discussion of future business, the meeting was adjourned.
