Charles Ira Morris, Jr., 69, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, at his home in Fairfax, Missouri. He was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, November 10, 1953, to parents Charles Ira and Alma Ruth (Boyer) Morris.

Chuck was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Sue Upton in 1973 at Las Vegas, Nevada. They spent 50 wonderful years together, and were blessed with two children. Chuck was of the Baptist faith. He worked at Noranda Aluminum in Martson, Missouri, for 29 years and retired in 2008. He and Gwen purchased a farm in Fairfax, where they spent their retirement. He loved his farm, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on many projects around the farm, and taking care of his many animals and pets. Chuck also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them hunting, fishing, sports activities, and playing cards and dice with them.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his stepparents, Margo Morris and Richard Paul Patterson; sisters, Joan Vernetta Giudicy and Paula Renee Patterson; niece, Abigail Lynn Patterson; and nephew, Liam Richard Julius.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 50 years; son, Billy Morris and wife, Kelly, of Fairfax; daughter, Marcie Morris of Marston; grandchildren, Brooklynn Baughman and husband, Josh, of Rock Port, Emma Morris of Maryville, Shelbey Morris and significant other, Kayden Holecek, of Mound City, Olivia Morris of Fairfax, Piper Morris of Fairfax, Dylan Jeffords and significant other, Jetta Sillers, of Fairfax; great-grandchild, Bray William Baughman; a great-granddaughter on the way; brothers, Roger Morris and wife, Sharon, of Festus, Richard Patterson and wife, Susan, of Farmington; sisters, Charlene Wilson and significant other, Brad Smythe, of Piedmont, Missouri, Patti Belle Patterson of Festus; and many other treasured and loved family members. Chuck will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel, Piedmont. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Interment will be at Rowland-Woods Cemetery, Patterson, Missouri. Memorials may be directed to the Charles Morris Memorial Fund. Local arrangements are under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, Missouri.
