Beverly Louise (Jackson) Gibbons, the daughter of Walter F. Jackson and Edith M. (Zeigle) Jackson, was born November 15, 1931, in Atchison County, Missouri. Beverly attended school in Tarkio, Missouri, and graduated from Tarkio High School in 1949.

On July 29, 1949, Beverly was united in marriage to Henry Gibbons in Glenwood, Iowa, and they became the parents of two children, Terry and Corliss. Beverly was a homemaker, Avon sales representative, cleaned homes, and worked at the Tarkio Nursing Home in laundry. Beverly was active in various clubs within the community. In 1966, Beverly and Henry seized the opportunity to become a farm family north of Tarkio. In 1969, they purchased their first 120 acre farm and soon after were able to purchase three more farms, raising and selling hogs in Atchison County. In 1980, they were awarded the “Community Betterment Farm Family of the Year.” After many years of farming, Beverly and Henry retired to Warsaw, Missouri, in 1994 where she continued part-time work at a laundromat, cleaning homes, and home healthcare. In their free time, the couple spent time on Truman Lake fishing and relaxing.

After returning home from Warsaw in 2006, Beverly volunteered at the Community Hospital-Fairfax Auxiliary gift shop. Beverly cared for Henry until his passing in 2014. Beverly resided at Tarkio Rehabilitation & Health Care until her passing on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the age of 91.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; sister, Mary Long, Rock Port, Missouri; brother, Kenneth Jackson, Destin, Florida; and daughter, Corliss Gibbons, Tarkio. Survivors include sisters, Faith Eyman, Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Teresa McCarthy, Granby, Missouri; son, Terry Gibbons and wife Twyilla, Westboro, Missouri; four grandchildren, Tyson, Tasha, Linda, and Stacey; 10 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. Open visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, prior to the service. Interment will be at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Memorials may be directed to Home Cemetery or Tarkio Nutrition Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
