The Allen-Schiffern Unit 199 met August 14, 2023, with four officers attending, which constituted an executive meeting. All officers present reported their hours and money spent for the months of May, June, and July.

Chaplain Judy Grundel read a poem by Helen Steiner Rice to start the meeting. The minutes will be read and approved at the next meeting. The financial report was given by Treasurer Sheridan Mires. Membership and increase in dues were discussed.   

The Fourth District Auxiliary meeting will be held September 16 in Tarkio. Linda Kaye will confirm with the absent members and the other units in the county as to what they will be bringing for the dinner. District officers will be installed by Department President Sheridan Mires. She will address the members about the president’s project, the Tiny Homes for Veterans.

The fall rummage sale dates are October 20 and 21. Clean, saleable items will be accepted from 1:00-4:00 p.m. October 9-13 and 16-18. No take-ins will be accepted on Thursday, October 19. Call KC Hines at 660-623-9297 for more information.

The annual turkey dinner is scheduled for Sunday, November 5, 2023. The group made tentative plans for food preparations.

Linda Kaye declared the meeting adjourned. The next meeting will be Monday, October 9,  2023, at 5:30 p.m.
