Tarkio College and Tarkio Tech recently recognized the Tarkio Avalanche for its support. The Avalanche has made several signs and vinyl displays for the grounds and buildings.

Tarkio College d/b/a Tarkio Tech has selected their yard sign recipients for the second half of 2023. The program is designed to recognize businesses and individuals who have been instrumental in the re-birth of the college’s campus through the newly-created career and technical school.

The business award recognizes two businesses, the Tarkio Avalanche and Midwest Data Center.

Mike Farmer has not only provided quality signage for the campus and the college’s activities, but has contributed his time and insight in helping create the layouts for these attractive banners and signs.  The Avalanche is also the main provider of Tarkio Tech clothing articles.

Midwest Data Center, through the leadership of Mike Goins, has provided priority service as Tarkio Tech has expanded its communications network on the new campus. Jason Watkins has been at the forefront of the development of the Computer Information Technology program.  In the fall of 2022, they made a significant donation in the form of a computer lab they built for the school. They also serve as one of the primary employers for Computer Information Technology graduates.     

The recipients of the individual awards are Bill and Teresa Smith, Tarkio, and Bob and Marilyn Alldredge, Fairfax. Both couples have been faithful givers to the college over the years. Both Teresa and Marilyn also serve on the local steering committee which heads up events such as the annual high school career fair and luncheons for special groups. All four individuals are regular volunteers for annual camp work days and work tirelessly promoting Tarkio Tech within their communities.

The efforts of these individuals, and many more like them, have led to the continual development of the Tarkio College campus.
