CDBG Street Grant Update

The city has entered into a contract with Asphalt Contractors. Jerri Dearmont with Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments, Andi Macias with Snyder & Associates, and Roy with Asphalt Contractors will be in Fairfax August 24 for a pre-construction meeting. That meeting should provide a more definite timeline on when work will begin.

During the discussion it was mentioned that Asphalt Contractors could add more streets while in town at the cost of the city. Since the additional streets would be paid for by the city it would not have to follow grant specifications and would end up costing the city less. The aldermen voted unanimously to add more streets with the maximum amount of $75,000.00 from city funds.
