A funeral service will be held for Judy Fuelling of Tarkio, Missouri, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Davis Funeral Home in Tarkio. Interment will be held at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Pastor Cathy Riggins will officiate. Open visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, at Davis Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening. Services are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.

Judith Ann Fuelling, the daughter of James Reed and Isabel Huberta (Silverthorn) Cole, was born January 25, 1942, in Topeka, Kansas. She attended Lawrence High School, Lawrence, Kansas, graduating in 1960. Judy attended Tarkio College, Tarkio, receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in education in 1966.

On August 4, 1963, Judy was united in marriage to David Lee Fuelling at the Tarkio Presbyterian Church where Jim Hannah was the best man and Patricia Mary Cole was matron of honor. They made their home in Rock Port, Missouri, for a short time. In 1968, they purchased their home in Tarkio and became the parents of one son, David Michael, in 1971. David passed away in 2014.

Judy was employed as an elementary teacher by Hamburg Elementary School, Hamburg, Iowa, for numerous years. In 1999, Judy was then employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections as a caseworker, retiring in 2012.

Judy was a member of the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Auxiliary Unit #199 and Good News Church (formerly Methodist Church), Tarkio. She enjoyed spending time with family. Judy passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, Missouri, at the age of 81.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, David. Survivors include son, David Michael “Mike” Fuelling, Saint Paul Park, Minnesota; grandchildren, Tyler Lee and Danica Renae Fuelling; brother, Robert Cole, Dolores, Colorado; nieces, Peggy and Penny Cole; nephew, Jim Cole; and best friend and companion, Mike Williams.
