The South Holts Knights came to Blue Jay Stadium on Friday night to take on the Jays for their Homecoming game. The Knights were 4 and 0 coming into the game.
Rock Port won the toss and elected to receive to start the game. The Jays would move the ball down to the 30 yard line before turning it over on downs. South Holt would go three and out to give Rock Port the ball on the 40 yard line. Two plays later, Cade Makings would find Corbyn Jakub deep in the Knights’ territory for six points. Makings would keep it on the two-point conversion to give the Jays an early lead with 8 points.
With a good kick and losing traction with his feet, the Knights would start on the 10 yard line. Ten plays later South Holt would find the end zone and kick an extra point to bring the score to 8-7.
Dakota Evans would have a good return, bringing the ball to mid-field and four plays later Makings would find Jakub once again on a crossing route for six points. Makings’ two point was good, giving the Jays a 16-7 lead to end the first quarter.
South Holt would waste no time in answering back with a touchdown, kicking an extra point and making the score 16-14. The Jays would go three plays and out.
The Knights wasted no time scoring their next offensive plays, going 56 yards for a touchdown and the extra point making it 16- 21 in their favor.
Dakota Evans would catch the next kickoff on the five yard line and take it back the length of the field for six points. This would be Rock Port’s last score.
