The East Atchison Wolves traveled to Barnard, Missouri, Friday, September 22, to play Platte Valley.
The first points of the game came from a 56 yard pass for a touchdown. With a successful two point conversion, Platte Valley took an 8-0 lead.
EA’s Cameron Brooks got loose for a 36 yard touchdown run. The two-point failed, making the score Platte Valley 8, EA 6.
Platte Valley scored two more times. With one two-point conversion a success, the score was Platte Valley 22, EA 6.
Blake Simmons put the next score on the board for the Wolves. He broke free for an 18 yard TD run. The two-point conversion failed. The score at the end of the first quarter was Platte Valley 22, EA 12.
The second quarter both defenses held. The only score was a 43 yard run by Sammie Litherbury. The two-point conversion failed, making the score going into halftime Platte Valley 22, EA 18.
Again in the third quarter, both the defenses held, making it a scoreless quarter.
Platte Valley scored a touchdown on a 14 yard pass play in the fourth quarter. With a successful two-point conversion, the score was Platte Valley 30, EA 18.
On the ensuing kickoff, Cameron Brooks took it 55 yards on the return for a touchdown. The two-point conversion failed, making the score Platte Valley 30, EA 24. The Wolves’ defense stopped Platte Valley on the next series, giving the ball back to EA. Sammie Litherbury hit pay dirt with a three yard touchdown. Blake Simmons made the successful two-point conversion, making the score EA 32, Platte Valley 30.
On the next drive, Platte Valley found the end zone on a 34 yard pass. The two-point conversion was a success, making the score Platte Valley 38, EA 32, final. The Wolves almost pulled out a score in the final two minutes, but Platte Valley’s defense held.
The East Atchison Wolves will be hosting Osborn/Stewartsville this Friday, September 29, for Homecoming. The game begins at 7:00 p.m. in Fairfax.
