Patricia Kay “Patty” Clark, the daughter of Ray and Susie (Hines) Wooten, was born February 20, 1967, in Fairfax, Missouri. Patty attended Fairfax High School, Fairfax, graduating in 1985. She then attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Disability and Handicap Special Education.

On April 20, 1985, Patty was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, David Dewayne Clark. They became the parents of two sons, Scott Michael and Calyn Andrew. They made their home in Fairfax their entire married life of 38 wonderful years.

Patty was employed as a preschool teacher for Tarkio Preschool and later Holt County Head Start. She was then employed for Atchison County Head Start, Rock Port, Missouri, where she taught for 32 years. Patty loved children and took pride in caring for her students and their families.

Patty was very patriotic. She enjoyed driving the Head Start van in parades, was an animal lover, especially dogs, and volunteering for Relay for Life. She coached the Special Olympics and participated in tractor pulls in her younger years. Patty loved spending time with her family and spoiling her nieces and nephews. The kids always went to Aunt Patty because she could never tell them “no.” Patty passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023, at her home in Fairfax at the age of 56.

Patty was preceded in death by her father, Ray Wooten; mother and stepfather, Susie and Harry Shaw; grandparents, Charles Washie and Helen Louise Hines and Catherine Shaw; and numerous aunts and uncles. Survivors include husband, David Clark; sons, Scott Michael and Calyn Andrew Clark; siblings, Harry Gene (Brooke) Wooten, Brenda Harber, Louis (Naomi) Shaw, Jim Gilpin, and Beverly (Jamey) Bowman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dewayne and Sharon Clark; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Velma Houts Fair Building, Rock Port. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
