Sandra Kay Meier, the daughter of Junior Lee and Ellen Joan (Hardy) Driskell, was born January 13, 1961, in West Plains, Missouri. She attended Essex High School, Essex, Iowa.

On May 9, 1979, Sandy was united in marriage to Phil Meier. They became the parents of three children, Cathy, Crissy, and Cody. They later divorced. In 2007, Sandy met her companion, James Alsup, and they made their home in Tarkio, Missouri.

In 1995, Sandy was employed as a cashier for Hy-Vee until being employed as a custodian for Tarkio R-I School District in 1997. She retired in 2019.

Sandy enjoyed camping, waterskiing, fishing, sewing, and gardening/canning. She especially loved participating in Spooks for Cancer, Christmas, and cooking with her grandchildren. Sandy passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, surrounded by her family, at the age of 62.

Besides her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by nephew, Jace Driskell; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and father-in-law, Robert Meier. Survivors include children, Cathy (Paul) Rybolt, Maryville, Missouri, Crissy (Nathan) Drummond, Fairfax, Missouri, and Cody (Kristi) Meier, Memphis, Nebraska; companion, James Alsup, Tarkio; James’ children, Tarran (KateLyn) Alsup, Garrett (Shelby) Alsup, and Stuart Alsup; grandchildren, Dalylah, Shayleigh, Dalaynie, Dylan, Damon, Mikayla, Emily, Madison, Radlee, and Sydnee; bonus granddaughter, Jenny Ahlgrimm; James’ grandchildren, Grayson, Olivia, Charleigh, Kinley, Bexley, Skylar, Ledgen, and Gia; siblings, Bob (Debbie) Driskell, Keith (Becky) Driskell, Sally (Gary Frohn) Driskell, Alan (Barb) Driskell, and Kevin Driskell; numerous aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins; mother-in-law, Orma Meier; and sisters-in-law, Lorie Hall, Jan (Lee Roy Sickman) Taylor, and Sally Vietze.

A celebration of life was held Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Community Building, Tarkio. Private family inurnment was held at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Memorials may be directed to Sandy’s Locker for Tarkio students in need. Arrangements were under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
