The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, September 14, 2023. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.

Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Bills were reviewed and approved for payment.

John Hickman with HIC Insurance was present to review a level funded health plan option with the county. Amy Meinecke, HR Deputy, was present for the discussion. Hickman said they have been able to secure some very favorable rates for the county. No firm rates were discussed since the county will be going out for bid due to the number of agents that have inquired about different health options.

The commission went out and inspected roads in the afternoon.

There being no further business, the commission adjourned.

The commissioners traveled to Grundy County to attend the Northwest Commissioners meeting.
