The East Atchison Lady Wolves traveled to Plattsburg, Missouri, to compete in the Class 1, District 4 Girls’ Golf Tournament at the Plattsburg Country Club Thursday, October 5, 2023. The Lady Wolves won the tournament with a team score of 398 at Plattsburg. The next closest score was East Buchanan with 407. This is the 4th straight Class 1 District 4 title for the Lady Wolves, who also were the Class 1 State Girls’ Golf Champions last year.
Tarkio senior Lady Wolf Alex Barnett earned the Class 1 District 4 Individual Champion title with an 82, earning All-District recognition. She is the first East Atchison girls’ golfer to become a four-time state golf qualifier and the only girl in EA history to be a four-time state qualifier in any sport. She also tied her 18-hole personal record at this event.
Fairfax sophomore Lady Wolf Amelia Larson also earned All-District recogntion and qualified for state individually with her sixth place finish of 101. She is the first Fairfax golfer ever to qualify for state. Amelia also set a new 9-hole and 18-hole personal record with her performance at Plattsburg.
Tarkio junior Lady Wolf Sydnee Bruns also qualified for state individually and earned All-District recognition. She tied for seventh place with a score of 102. Sydnee is a three-time state girls’ golf qualifier.
Tarkio junior Lady Wolf Kamryn Brown earned All-District recognition and qualified for state individually with a score of 113.
Rounding out the team is Tarkio junior Lady Wolf Jillian Hannah who shot a 128 at her first ever district girls’ golf tournament.
The girls will be heading to the Class 1 State Girls’ Golf Championship in Sedalia, Missouri, to compete on Monday and Tuesday, October 16 and 17.
