Marjorie Ann Johnson, the daughter of Willard Walter and Hazel Elizabeth (Lucas) Howes, was born November 29, 1931, in Gravity, Iowa. She attended school in Sheridan, Missouri.
On January 17, 1948, Marjorie was united in marriage to Kenneth Waugh Tyler in Grant City, Missouri. They became the parents of four children, Wayne, Yvonne, Wanda, and Russell. Kenneth passed away in August of 1990. Marjorie was later united in marriage to Armon Johnson, until he passed away.
Marjorie loved being a homemaker. She attended the First Baptist Church in Shenandoah, Iowa. She enjoyed gardening, reading, putting together puzzles, and doing arts and crafts. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Marjorie passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah, at the age of 91 years, 10 months, and 9 days.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Kenneth Tyler and Armon Johnson, and six siblings, Floyd Howes, Phyllis (Howes) Stanton, Norma (Howes) Ewart, Shirley (Howes) Troutwine, and Gayland and Gary Howes. Survivors include her children, Wayne Tyler, St. Joseph, Missouri, Yvonne Christine Ross, Tumwater, Washington, Wanda Olson, Red Oak, Iowa, and Russell Tyler, Osceola, Iowa; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2023, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, prior to the service. There is no open visitation. Interment will be at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
