Trulin Pankau, Rock Port, Missouri, received the Jones Family Farm Scholarship. He has completed VoTech and begun custom welding. He seeks to further his knowledge and build a wide skillset in the different types of welding to broaden his expertise. He plans to open his own welding shop.

 

Cory Stevens, Fairfax, Missouri, was awarded the Dr. Gavin and Eleanor Doughty Scholarship. Cory is pursuing a certification in wind energy. He is excited to learn how to perform the related job tasks efficiently. Cory looks forward to a long lasting, enjoyable career in wind energy.

 

Carter Holecek, Tarkio, Missouri, is receiving the Dr. Gavin and Eleanor Doughty, Tarkio United Presbyterian Church, and Reynolds/Lade/Gilbert Memorial Scholarships. Carter played many sports throughout high school, including football, baseball, basketball, and wrestling. He received his welding certificate last year and is currently pursuing certification in HVAC with plans to gain experience in the field. He hopes to start his own HVAC business one day.

 

Carlie Theas, Fairfax, Missouri, has been awarded the Dr. Gavin and Eleanor Doughty and Schwenn Scholarships. Carlie is pursuing a certification in Health Occupations and looks forward to furthering her education in Health Sciences. She hopes to pursue employment in a hospital setting where she can help aid patients in feeling safe, getting better, and feeling like themselves again. She also enjoys volunteering at the nursing home and participating in activities with the residents.

 

Brett Rodriguez, Mound City, Missouri, has also received the Jones Family Farm Scholarship and is pursuing certification in welding. Brett has learned that a hands-on, technical career would be the best fit for his future. He plans to live and work in a rural area, where he can contribute to the community.

 

Jase Wendt, St. Joseph, Missouri, has received the Dr. Gavin and Eleanor Doughty and Reynolds/Lade/Gilbert Memorial Scholarships. Jase enjoyed playing football, basketball, and baseball during high school. He seeks his certification in plumbing and to learn the skills necessary to work in the plumbing industry so that he can successfully support himself and his family.

 

Ashley Keesis, Blanchard, Iowa, received the Dr. Gavin & Eleanor Doughty Scholarship. This is her second year attending the welding program at Tarkio Tech. She is pursuing a certification in pipe welding this year. Ashley wants to open her own welding business for structural and sculpture welding. She has met with Susan Woodford, a local welding artist, to seek experience and gain knowledge in operating a successful business of welding art. Also pictured is Carol (Doughty) Jagger.
