Fairfax R-3 School has been doing a Veterans Day service project called Helping Our Heroes Points for Pennies. Each class and the staff has added pennies and bills (which were positive points) to their own container. Silver coins (nickels, dimes, and quarters) were negative points (which were put in other containers).

The two classes with the most points will present the donations at the Veterans Day Assembly. Half of the donations will be donated to the VA Home in Cameron, Missouri, to purchase puzzles, craft items, books, etc. The other half of the donations will be donated to Wounded Warrior Guide Service to help offset costs for an upcoming hunting trip (food, lodging, travel, etc.).
