C.A.R.E. was very busy in the month of October. It was Domestic Violence Month and a display representing the 2022 survivor count in Atchison County alone was at the intersection of Hwy. 136 and Main Street in Rock Port.

Collection boxes were placed at a number of area businesses for donations to the C.A.R.E. house. Those businesses were Midwest Chic Boutique (Hallie and Logan Pyeatt), Citizens Bank & Trust, Happy Hills Gas & Coffee Co., Bank Midwest, Stoner Drug, and Perfect 10 in Rock Port, and Rogers Pharmacy and Farmers State Bank in Tarkio.

A candlelight vigil was held October 11 with 32 individuals attending.

Bringing domestic violence and sexual assault awareness to the public allows C.A.R.E. to help victims of such crimes find resources to deal with their traumatic experience. This crime does not know gender, age, social status or time. However, these crimes happen, are ongoing, and many times unreported. For the survivor, C.A.R.E. is here to help in any way they can. You are not alone.
