Customer service was the topic of conversation led by Lori Seymour with NorthwestCell and MaryAnn Hull with Quality Auto at the ACDC Youth Professionalism Workshop.
Jennifer Roup, Atchison County Library Director, spoke to Atchison County juniors, detailing her working experiences in Atchison County and how it is important to stay connected with the community in which they grew up.

Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) hosted a Professionalism Workshop for Atchison County high school juniors Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Tarkio Activity Center.
ACDC Director Monica Bailey welcomed all in attendance and Kent Fisher with Kent Fisher Insurance got the event rolling with a presentation on “Always on an Interview.” Tarkio Tech Admissions Counselor Mark Staten and Tarkio High School English teacher Casey Martin performed an interview skit, “What NOT To Do.” Next up were employees associated with some of Atchison County’s major employers sharing their personal stories, some good and bad employee stories, and how to get fired/promoted. Doug Garrison with Advanced Pork Systems, Ann Schlueter with Community Hospital-Fairfax, and Jason Watkins with Midwest Data Center gave their advice. Mr. Staten and Rock Port R-II Counselor Shauna Farmer performed an interview skit highlighting “What TO Do.”
The juniors then were able to hear from people who live and work in Atchison County, some who grew up here as well. Lori Seymour with NorthwestCell and MaryAnn Hull with Quality Auto discussed customer service and experiences those dealing with customers will face and how to handle certain situations. Crystal Woodring, Northwest Missouri Living Center Director, gave a presentation. The students then heard from recent Atchison County high school graduates Bella Hurst, Trevor Brown, Shelbie Graham, Brady Minter, and Dalton Jones. The students were treated to lunch before heading back to school.
