The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, November 9, 2023. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.

Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Bills were reviewed and approved for payment.

The department’s month-end reports were reviewed and approved.

Bids were opened at 8:30 a.m. and read for adding a sidewalk along the south side of the building along the new block wall. There were two bids, one from Davis Concrete Works and one from Hale Construction Services, LLC. Due to budget meetings, the commission tabled the bids for further discussion.

The commission spent the entire session reviewing 2024 budgets with various departments. Budgets for Emergency Management/911, Law Enforcement, and Road and Bridge were reviewed as presented by Director Rhonda Wiley, Sheriff Martin, and Supervisor Kamron Woodring.

At 2:00 p.m. the regular session of the commission was adjourned and the 2023 salary commission meeting reconvened.

The salary commission adjourned at 2:20 p.m. and the regular session of the commission reopened.

There being no further business, the commission adjourned.
