The City of Fairfax Board of Aldermen held a regular meeting November 15, 2023. The meeting was called to order by Ryan Kingery, Mayor, at 6:30 p.m. Also in attendance were:

Debra Wyatt, Shannon Long, Beth Graves, and Tabitha Wintz, aldermen; Lori Helfers, City Clerk; John Brown, Water Superintendent; and Terry Miller, City Treasurer.

The agenda was approved.

The aldermen also approved the minutes of the regular meeting October 18, 2023, and accounts payable.

OLD BUSINESS

John Brown reported the street project has been completed. The close out meeting for the CDBG Street Grant will be held December 13, 2023.

Discussion continued from the October meeting regarding the ACWWC expansion. A motion was made by Tabitha Wintz for the expansion of the waterline, with provisions. The motion was seconded by Shannon Long and  passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS

Due to a sewer main issue at Denny and First Streets, the aldermen voted unanimously to repay Mr. Rhoades for personal property repairs.

STAFF REPORTS

Terry Miller, City Treasurer, reported all accounts are in balance.

Lori Helfer, City Clerk, reported that December 5 is the opening for the April election. She also reported on property nuisance letters that have been sent out.

The meeting was adjourned, with the mayor and council members going into executive session.

The next meeting will be December 13, 2023.
