Fairfax R-3 Preschool

The Fairfax R-3 Preschool students recently shared their own recipes for “How to Cook a Thanksgiving Turkey” (recipes not kitchen tested). Their recipes follow:

Dani Boyle (3 years old) – Get a turkey at the zoo. Before you cook it, you need to get tomatoes and potatoes. Cook the turkey at 5 degrees for 16 hours. The turkey is done when it’s 15 minutes longer. You can eat potatoes and potatoes with the turkey. For dessert you can eat chicken nuggets, maybe French fries and ketchup. Maybe you could eat chips and a cookie. Happy Thanksgiving!

Wesley Long (4 years old) – Get a turkey from a farm. Before you cook it you need to put some mittens on. Cook the turkey at 733 degrees for 70 minutes. The turkey is done when you put the cheese on. You can eat meat, beans, peas, steak, mac and cheese, and noodles with the turkey. For dessert you can eat cake, cupcakes, candy, and popsicles. Happy Thanksgiving!

Claire Oswald (4 years old) – Get a turkey from the farm. Before you cook it you need to get cheese. Cook the turkey at 20 degrees for 5 minutes. The turkey is done when you cook it. You can eat ham, ketchup, strawberries, and some blueberries, and some bananas with the turkey. For dessert you can eat vegetables like bananas. Happy Thanksgiving!

Aubree Simmons (5 years old) – Get a turkey from the field. Before you cook it you need to cut your turkey in circle pieces. Cook the turkey at 70 degrees for 17 hours. The turkey is done when the beeper on the stove or oven goes off. I have a Papa who yells for MeeMaw when the timer goes off. You can eat carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy with the turkey. I like mine in a line with salt on them. For dessert you can eat ice cream and a popsicle. No strawberries inside the popsicles. Happy Thanksgiving!

Ella Smith (3 years old) – Get a turkey from the kitchen. Before you cook it you need to put it in the oven. Cook the turkey at 5 degrees for 10 minutes. The turkey is done when it dings. You can eat vegetables with the turkey. After you eat it with vegetables then you can eat chicken! For dessert you can eat spooky things my Grammy got me. Happy Thanksgiving!

Everlee Smith (4 years old) – Get a turkey from my backyard. Before you cook it you need to well, it can’t be big ‘cause it won’t fit in the pan. So, you need to cut it up. Cook the turkey at 7 degrees for 7 minutes. The turkey is done when it’s been 7 minutes. You can eat salad, chicken, and roast beef with the turkey. I might eat ketchup, some cut up oranges, and some bananas. For dessert you can eat cupcakes. Happy Thanksgiving!

Harper Smith (5 years old) – Get a turkey from the zoo. Before you cook it you need to put it on the plate and eat it. Cook the turkey at 2 degrees for 20 minutes. The turkey is done when I put it on the tray and eat it. You can eat grapes, blueberries, bananas, vegetables, and lemons with the turkey. After I’m full I go to bed. For dessert you can eat ice cream. Chocolate chip and strawberry! Rainbow ice cream! Happy Thanksgiving!

Patrick Swenson (3 years old) – Get a turkey from the school. Before you cook it you need to cook it. Cook the turkey at 3 degrees for 400 minutes. The turkey is done when you bring it out from the oven. You can eat chips with the turkey. For dessert you’re full. No dessert. Happy Thanksgiving!

Cammie White (4 years old) – Get a turkey from the kitchen. Before you cook it you need to get a pan and put it in it. Cook the turkey at Z degrees for 13 minutes. The turkey is done when my mom knows. You can eat ketchup, mac and cheese, hot dogs, cottage cheese, and more hot dogs with the turkey. For dessert you can eat ice cream, cheese, and mac and cheese. Atchison County Head Start

Atchison County Head Start students are getting ready for Thanksgiving and share their recipes for “How to Cook a Turkey.”

Ms. Katie’s, Ms. Lisa’s, and Ms. Chase’s Class

Raylynn – Go outside to look. Pat it with a tissue. Eat 1 turkey.

Jethro – Mom cooks it forever outside. Cut it, but only when it’s done and make sure it’s dead. Don’t eat it; turkey is yucky!

Triptyn – Look for a rainbow turkey first. Cook it in the oven with chicken nuggets at 5009 degrees. Leave it for 20 days. Carry the turkey to the table where the carrots are. Nuggets by the ranch. Everyone eats together.

Liam D. – We cook it to eat it. Don’t eat the bones. My dad will wash it and set it on the table. Grandma Sue will carry it to the car with Papa’s help. Off to the hospital where they will cook it. Mom will ask if the turkey needs to go to the dentist. Nannie will set the table. Eat!

Jensen – Get one with big wings. Needs big eyes, and fast feet. Let it fly away then shoot it down. Rub it and stuff then take it to Hy-Vee and they will cook it. We eat it.

Braxtin V. – Let’s go to Walmart first. Look for a turkey. Cook on the stove. Make it good. All my friends and family will come over to eat it all gone.

Brinley – Put it outside on the grill. Make a little turkey though. Fill it with ketchup and mustard. You can make it on the stove too. Cook for like 5 hours – cut it with scissors of knife maybe. First the legs then the body. Then eat it with my family.

Novalyn – Cut turkey. Cook it on the plate in the grill. Needs to be big turkey. Share!

Ms. Thea’s, Ms. Jo’s, and Ms. Dianna’s Class

Charlotte – First you turn on the stove, and cook it. Then you take it out and put in on a plate. Then eat it.

Jaxson – A guy with a hat gets the turkey. Then splassshhh, and boom. You cook it like that, then eat it.

Harper – First you get the turkey and put it in the oven. Then set a timer for 9. You take it out and then eat it.

Braxtyn I. – Dinosaurs get the turkey and then cook it with their tails. Then we eat it.

Kylie – Turtles get it and cook it. They put it in the oven and then we eat it.

Weston – You cook it with corn, in the car, and then it goes bye bye.

Jaelynn – Santa comes and cooks it with bread and wine. The turkey is red and white and then turns brown. Then we eat it.

Garrik – I cook it in flour then eat it.

Liam M. – My dad cooked the turkey and it turned into spiderman. Then we ate it.

Cruze – You start with seeds, then you get a knife, and then he’s dead. Then you put him in the microwave and eat him.

Ryker – You get salt, water, leaves, corn, and foil. You cook the turkey with all that in the toaster. Then you put it in a bowl and eat it.

The Kids’ Korner Preschool students in Tarkio are getting excited about Thanksgiving and wanted to share their own recipes on “How To Cook A Turkey.” Their unique instructions are below:

Evelyn – First, stuff the turkey with meat. Next, smother the outside of the turkey with seasonings. Finally, cook the turkey at 50 degrees for 67 hours. Truly, that is how you cook a turkey.

Skyler – First, stuff the turkey with chicken nuggets. Next, smother the outside of the turkey with olives. Finally, cook the turkey at 0 degrees for 3 hours. Truly, that is how you cook a turkey.

Vinny – First, stuff the turkey with milk. Next, smother the outside of the turkey with chips. Finally, cook the turkey at 7080 degrees for 2 hours. Truly, that is how you cook a turkey.

Camilla – First, stuff the turkey with butterflies. Next, smother the outside of the turkey with oreos. Finally, cook the turkey at 4 degrees for 5 hours. Truly, that is how you cook a turkey.
