Backed by a record-setting performance from Tony Osburn, the Mavericks moved to 3-0 at home this season after besting York 104-68.

Osburn made nine three-pointers November 27, giving him the all-time program record for threes made in a single game, doing so with just 19 seconds left on the clock.

Osburn’s 32 points against York were the most by any Maverick this year, as were his 11 field goals made. His six rebounds were second to only Marquel Sutton, who led the team with eight.

It was the Tony Osburn show in the first half as he quickly made it 10-2 with a pair of threes in the opening two minutes. Then, at 16:39, Osburn made it 3-for-3 on three-pointers after draining one from the left side, making it 14-4. After getting his fourth from deep at 15:08, Osburn would grab a defensive board and take it the length of the court before capping off his incredible run with his fifth-consecutive three just 20 seconds later to put Omaha up 24-6.

Omaha would get five more threes in the first half, including two more from Osburn, with Stubblefield, Bryant, and Marshall sinking the other three. Overall, 30 of Omaha’s 59 points in the first would come from behind the arc. Lost amidst the offensive barrage was that as a team, Omaha pulled down an impressive 26 rebounds in the half, with Sutton recording five and Osburn and Davis each getting four.

With the victory all but secured as Omaha led by at least 30 for the remainder of the night, all eyes were on Osburn as he sat just one 3-PT FG away from standing alone atop the Mavericks leaderboard. After getting his eighth at 15:08, he would go without a three for nearly 15 minutes. Then, with just 35 seconds left on the clock, Osburn patiently waited for his opportunity before letting fly one last shot, nailing the three and securing the record with 19 seconds remaining.

Osburn blew past his career high of 14 points and three 3-PT FGs just five minutes into the game. He would score six more threes over the next 35 minutes and end the day with 32 points. He is now the first Maverick this year to top 30 points in a single game.
