The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, December 28, 2023. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed and approved for payment.
Megan Twyman, administrator at Pleasant View Nursing Home, was in to introduce herself to the commission. She reported that she worked for the prior owners and began working at the Rock Port facility in 2010. She became administrator in April 2023. The commission inquired about any improvements needed to the facility. She reported that the parking lot needs some attention, and a fire board would need to be upgraded. Clerk Taylor went over the budget timeline and contract concerns. Megan agreed to pass them along to the corporate office.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Kamron Woodring presented the purchase order from Murphy Tractor & Equipment through Sourcewell control number UINV0052 for a 2024 John Deere 85 P-Tier excavator. It was reviewed and signed by Presiding Commissioner Livengood.
The commission reviewed the 2024 budget message.

The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, January 4, 2024. Present were: South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission. Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood was absent.
South District Commissioner Burke called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed and approved for payment.
Clerk Taylor reported that the 2024 budget was complete and ready for review. In addition, she discussed the new group life insurance policy with Colonial Life Insurance.
