Rock Port High School music students participated in the Four-State Honor Choir at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, Thursday, January 18, 2024. The choir was conducted by Sylvester Otieno Ogama. The students sang four of his own compositions: Asante (Thanksgiving Song), Maua Mazuri (The Beautiful Flowers), Mang’ong’o (Victory Celebration Song), and Loya (Song of Exuberance). Rock Port students participating included Logan Kish, Alisha Lomax, Abby Minino, Hadleigh Jones, Sophie Storm, Audrey Dougherty, and Logan Richards. They were accompanied by their music teacher, Abby Palmer.
