The Fairfax Fire Department will have their fish and chicken fry Saturday, February 17, at the Fairfax Community Room in the fire station. Serving begins at 5:00 p.m. A free-will offering will be accepted.

The Good News Church in Tarkio will hold its annual Chili/Soup Cook-Off and Dessert Contest this coming Sunday, February 18. Everyone is invited to the fellowship hall at the church. This is a free event, but if you would like to bring a can of soup for the local food pantry, that would be appreciated.

Congratulations to the Atchison County lady wrestlers, who did well at the district tournament last weekend. Good luck to the boys in their district wrestling tournament this Friday and Saturday!

District basketball starts next week. The schedule is: Monday, February 19 – Rock Port girls vs. North Nodaway at Stanberry at 7:00 p.m.; Tuesday, February 20 – EA boys vs. Nodaway Valley at Albany at 5:30 p.m., and Rock Port boys vs. Northeast Nodaway at Conception Junction at 5:45 p.m.; and Wednesday, February 21 – EA girls vs. the winner of the Albany/Maysville game at Maysville at 6:00 p.m. Good luck!
