Daytona Paris, daughter of Ashtin and John Higgins and Orry and Stacie Paris, recently competed at the Yankton Invitational Wrestling Tournament. Daytona went 4-0 at the tournament, finishing in first place in the 132 pound category. This improved her record to 7-6 and puts her in contention to qualify for the state wrestling tournament. A first year wrestler, she was surprised when many of her family travelled to support her at the tournament. She was coached at this tournament by her father, Orry Paris, and uncle, Kory Paris, as her wrestling coach was coaching boys’ wrestling in another part of the state. Daytona, who lives on a farm near Naper, Nebraska, is a sophomore at Burke High School in Burke, South Dakota.
