Sandra Jean Henning, the daughter of Ralph Douglas and Mildred B. (Meyer) Winstead, was born April 27, 1938, in Shenandoah, Iowa. She attended Westboro High School, Westboro, Missouri, graduating in 1956.

On September 21, 1956, Sandra was united in marriage to Virgil Lee Henning at the Westboro Methodist Church. They became the parents of three children, James, Tony, and Carol, and made their home in Tarkio, Missouri, until the present time.

Sandra was employed as a cook for Elks Lodge #1122, Shenandoah, and for Tarkio School District. She then managed the clubhouse at Tarkio Golf Course for several years.

Sandra enjoyed playing cards and was a fill-in card player. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. Everyone loved her cooking, especially her peanut butter brownies. She especially loved spending time with her family. Sandra passed away Thursday, February 14, 2024, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 85.

Besides her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by siblings, Wayne Winstead, Barbara Hamilton, and Colleen Choate. Survivors include husband, Virgil Henning, Tarkio; children, James (Debbie) Henning, Dodge City, Kansas, Tony (Robin) Henning, Tarkio, and Carol Henning, Shenandoah; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Connie Quimby, Maryville, Missouri, and Terry Winstead, Westboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial graveside service and inurnment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro, conducted by Pastor Cathy Riggins. There is no scheduled visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Tarkio Nutrition Center, Tarkio. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
