Rock Port hosted the season-opener scholar bowl competition Thursday, February 29. They defeated South Holt 300-160, Osborn 350-100, and South Nodaway 330-90.

Individual point scorers were Bannack Skillen with 280 on the night, Carter Gebhards with 70, Malachi Skillen with 40, and Tarver Muntz with 10. Dereck Dush also played varsity.

Principal Donnie Parsons organized a junior varsity room. Logan Lomax, Mya Welch, Lily Wilroy, Spencer Newbanks, and Devyn Pitts also had a chance to play against each other.

Volunteers were Kerri Rodriguez, Christin Dush, Shauna Farmer, Regan Griffin, Rex Bollinger, Donnie Parsons, Julie Burke, Jackie Miller, Dalton Jones, Cali Driskell, Claire Spiegel, Keira Roup, Avery Meyerkorth, and Ona Henriksen.
