Bush Cemetery in rural Atchison County, Missouri, has set up a GoFundMe account to raise funds for a tree removal. Unfortunately, the large oak tree at the cemetery has died and has begun to split at the trunk and is at risk of falling on several tombstones. Due to the size of the tree and the location in the cemetery the lowest bid received was $900.
The cemetery has a fund, which is used to pay for gas, roundup, and weed eater twine. Due to the generous donations of descendants of those buried at Bush Cemetery, along with the frugal use of funds, the cemetery account is worth roughly $900. The tree removal would deplenish the cemetery’s account, so donations are needed to assist with the tree removal expense. It is hoped donations will amount to half the tree removal cost so enough money can be retained in the account to cover the other maintenance expenses. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
