
Curtis Walter Evans, the son of John C. and LaVada Mae (Walter) Evans, was born April 21, 1959, in Fairfax, Missouri. He attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1977.
In 1980, Curtis was employed by Tarkio Board of Public Works, where he was a Water Plant Manager for 37 years. He retired in 2017.
Curtis joined the Tarkio Volunteer Fire Department in 1984. He served 40 years and was currently serving as the secretary. He enjoyed visiting with friends and attending class reunions. He loved collecting Hot Wheels cars. Curtis passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 64.
Besides his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by aunt and uncles, Don and Janett Adams, and Gilbert Walter. Survivors include brother, John Clark (Holli) Evans, Norcross, Georgia; step niece and nephew and their families; aunt, Donna Walter, Omaha, Nebraska; and cousins, Sandy Byers, Brenda Christensen, and Marsha Kubica and families, Omaha, Michelle Halferty and family, Kansas City, Missouri, and Sharolyn Adams and family, Tarkio.
A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Tarkio Fire Station, Tarkio. There is no visitation. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Tarkio Volunteer Fire Department, Tarkio. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
