Fairfax’s Charlie Smith earned her Missouri State FFA Degree.

Fairfax FFA  members Anna Ohlensehlen, KayDee Duering, Mason Kingery, Chloe Vernon, and Charlie Smith were part of the Courtesy Corps, where they assisted with the Advanced Division Public Speaking contest.

 

The Rock Port FFA Horse CDE Team of Landrey Kelly, Dylan Lair, and Rylee Jenkins received a Group II rating.

 

Rock Port FFA member Makaila Pruett was a member of the State FFA Choir.

 

Rock Port FFA member Kinleigh Daugherty was recognized for being named the Area 1 Secretary.

Atchison County high school FFA members and advisors recently attended the Missouri State FFA Convention, where the members participated in CDE contests and attended leadership and award sessions.

Tarkio FFA Advisor and Tarkio High School agriculture teacher Dustin Lambertsen was awarded an Honorary State FFA Degree. Dustin was instrumental in setting up, building, planting and harvesting, and implementing and/or renovating the Tarkio FFA Farm and Greenhouse, which includes crops and a barn where members house their farm animals. He spends a lot of extra time to help the kids be successful in their classroom work and farm projects. Results from CDE and LDE contests are as follow: Floriculture – 14th overall, Group 1 rating; Dairy Foods – 25th overall, Group 2 rating; and FFA Knowledge – 31st overall, Group 2 rating.

The Rock Port FFA Chapter also had representatives at state. They included: Kinleigh Daugherty – Alternate Pork Producers Fall Speech, 2024-2025 Area 1 Secretary, and second place Swine Production Proficiency; Ryan Lucas – first place Area Extemporaneous Speaking; and Horse CDE group II rating – Rylee Jenkins, Landrey Kelly and Dylan Lair. Makaila was a member of the State FFA Choir. Ryan Paris and Ryan Lucas received their Missouri State FFA Degrees, and Kinleigh Daugherty and Ryan Paris were delegates.

Fairfax FFA members also took part in the festivities. Kendal Straub and Lexi Brown were part of the 2024 Missouri State FFA Choir, where they performed prior to the fifth session of the Missouri State FFA Convention. Charlie Smith, KayDee Duering, Chloe Vernon, Anna Ohlensehlen, and Mason Kingery were part of the Courtesy Corps, where they assisted with the Advanced Division Public Speaking contest. The FFA Knowledge team, which included Lexi Brown, Chloe Vernon, Anna Ohlensehlen, and Mason Kingery competed in their state competition Friday morning. Friday evening, Charlie Smith received her Missouri State FFA Degree. These students also attended a majority of the sessions, which included hearing from Gov. Mike Parson, Missouri’s Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn, and numerous 2023-2024 Missouri State FFA Officers. Charlie and KayDee also attended the Missouri State FFA Convention Career Fair, where they were able to network with colleges and agricultural businesses.
