Minutes & Financials

Board members approved the minutes of the March 19, 2024, meeting and the March 2024 financials.

Band Nights 2024

Holly has received contracts from High Heel and Steven Banky and the Flatland bands.

The Park Board had additional questions regarding the August 17 band in the park. The Park Board inquired about the Tourism Board’s desired location and their plan with alcohol. It was decided that the desired location is the large shelter house area and wristbands will be sold for people to bring their own alcohol, barring any glass bottles. Holly asked that the board consider whether it wants to take a cover charge and donate it back to the community, like was done last year.

Summer Palooza

Holly received quotes from Carnival Times ($8,205) and A&M Amusements ($3,505) but has not reviewed them yet. She will review the quotes and eliminate an activity to fit the budget. The Park Board did approve use of the park for the activity. Kate, Ashtyn, and Holly will work on distributing the letters asking for contributions from local businesses. The Ministerial Alliance contacted Holly regarding their desire to provide the bottled water for the event. Charlie will check on the availability of the grill from last year.

Midget Wrestling

Thea reported that she is waiting to hear from them. The tentative date is August 26.

Comedian

Kate reported that she has heard back from two comedians. Aaron Scarborough quoted $1,300 for a 90 minute show and David Kousgaard quoted $600 for a 90 minute show. Kate will send out a message in the group text feed so that all board members can see videos of David’s show.

The next meeting is set for May 21, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
