Mayor Amy Thomas called the meeting to order.
Meeting Agenda
Herron moved to amend the meeting agenda to allow Jennifer Roup and Maggie Lair to speak for five minutes. Geib seconded. All votes aye.
Jennifer spoke on behalf of a local child to oppose micro wrestling, stating that the Cook family does not want this event to take place. Herron argued that the wrestlers rely on this for their living, and questioned whether they should be allowed to make a living. It was also mentioned that the Tourism Board would not be paying for it, as a private citizen is willing to donate to the cost. The board discussed that it should not take place on Main Street but did not vote against it being held at other locations. Roup stated that it won’t happen because she called around and ensured no one will rent them a space for the event.
Executive Session
Herron moved to adjourn into executive session pursuant to Section 610.021(2) RSMo at 5:18 p.m.
Herron moved to adjourn executive session at 7:40 p.m. Geib seconded. All votes aye.
Other Business – Codes
The tube at Pankaus does not meet code requirements and needs to be removed because it is directing water towards Irvine’s home. Chief Morris is responsible for informing Pankau, and the city is responsible for removing the tube. Pankaus can have the tube replaced at their own expense with approval and inspection by a city-approved engineer.
