Tarkio Rotary Club’s project for the year has been to update some instruments for the Tarkio High School music department. Local Rotary funds, along with a Rotary District Grant, were used to purchase a new marimba and a refurbished sousaphone and two marching baritones for the school. The cost of the project was $10,000. The instruments replaced ones that the band has had since 1901 and 1962. Pictured with the marimba and the sousaphone are Rotarians Darryl Lowrey, Gary Riley, Anita Sutter, Don White, Bob Koch, Jayne Scott, and Brad Mathers and band director Nathaniel Wehmeyer.
