With schools out and summer upon us, I would like to take the time to remind you of boater safety.
Remember that every person on the boat is required to have a life jacket. It is also important to ensure these life jackets are the proper size for the individual. This information is usually displayed on the inside of the life jacket.
You must also have on your boat an operational fire extinguisher and a sounding device.
It is also in your best interest to let someone know where you are going and what time you expect to be back.
I also want to remind you to grease the wheels on your boat trailer and conduct other trailer maintenance.
Double-checking these things before you leave can minimize possible risks and allow you to maximize your fun this summer. If you have any questions contact me at 816-383-0404.
