A highlight of the Tarkio Rodeo Parade is the participation of the Broken Spoke Clydesdales and their wagon.

Members of the American Legion presented the colors at the start of the parade and got everyone on their feet to pay their respects.

Several youngsters, possibly representing the next generation of firemen and women, rode with their parents in the fire trucks, including Lane Shaw, held by his mother, Brianna. Lane’s dad is Tarkio Volunteer Fire Department Chief Keaton Shaw.

Many of the vehicles that were showcased in the Doug Summa Memorial Car Show were also driven in the parade.

Those running for Atchison County Sheriff participated in the Tarkio Rodeo Parade. They are Andy Riley, Devon Sons, Matt Heits, and Tyson Gibbons.
