Barton Reed Shaw, the son of Everett Reed and Deloris Marie (Shiveley) Shaw, was born July 27, 1963, in Fairfax, Missouri. He attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1981.

Barton was employed as a cook and dishwasher for numerous restaurants including White Cloud Casino, White Cloud, Kansas, and Trail’s End, Rock Port. Due to health concerns, he later retired.

Barton enjoyed fishing, listening to Ozzy Osbourne and Aerosmith, and cruising around town with his brother, Albert. He was very artistic and loved knitting and crocheting. Most of all, Barton enjoyed spending time with his puppy, Skipper. Barton passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Parkdale Manor Health and Rehabilitation, Maryville, Missouri, at the age of 60.

Besides his parents, Barton was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Brenda (Steve) Shaw; and niece, Jennifer Elayne Shaw. Survivors include siblings, Rick (Lori) Shaw, Rock Port, Mary (James Phillips) Rouse, Watson, Missouri, and Albert Shaw, Fairfax, Missouri; brother-in-law, Fred Rouse, Rock Port; nieces, Mandy, Amber, and Kara; nephew, Andy; uncle, Donald “Buckshot” (Sam) Shiveley; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at Elmwood Cemetery, Rock Port, conducted by Pastor Kailea Nauman. There is no scheduled visitation. Family requests casual attire at the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Barton Shaw Memorial Fund to help with final expenses.
