The first day of summer is Thursday, June 20. Temperatures are starting to feel like it, too. Please remember to never leave your child or pet inside a vehicle, even if you leave the windows cracked or the air conditioning running. Even on a chilly 68°F day, the temperature inside an automobile can reach 118.2°F in just one hour! And deaths have occurred when air conditioners trusted to keep them cool have quit, unbeknownst to the driver who is elsewhere. Don’t risk it!
The Rock Port and Tarkio Pool managers ask that you please do not send your young children to the pool without a responsible adult. If their sitter isn’t watching them or they are left unattended, both the sitter and the child(ren) will be sent home. Make sure to send sunscreen and a towel with your child, as these items are not supplied and are necessary to keep your child safe from the sun and heat. Also, if you cannot or choose not to send money with your child to the pool, please at least send them with a water bottle. Dehydration happens fast.
