Barbara Maxine Brunk, 87, was surrounded by family when she passed away on June 28, 2024.
Maxine was born on June 29, 1936, around Lancaster, Missouri, to Bert Marvin and Maudie Marie (Crump) Kerby. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School.
On October 9, 1955, Maxine was united in marriage to Edwin Earl Brunk in Lancaster and they became parents of three children.
Maxine was a homemaker. She was involved with Business Women for many years. She was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts and a leader for the Girl Scouts when her children were involved. She enjoyed cooking for her family and others. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, painting, and many other crafts. Her home was always busy with the numerous children that would tag along with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Earl Brunk; her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; brothers, Terry Kerby and Joe Kerby; sister, Helen Shepherd; sister-in-law, Rose Kerby; brothers-in-law, Joe Aviles and Billy Brunk; and grandson, Tye Patrick.
Survivors include sons, Doug (Tami) Brunk of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Lou (Lisa) Brunk of Farragut, Iowa; daughter, Pam (Tim) Nance of Tarkio, Missouri; brother, Harold “Bud” Kerby of Pharr, Texas; brother in-law, Ronald Shepherd of Fisher, Illinois; in-laws, Beverly Aviles of Urbandale, Iowa, Betty (Jerry) Grogan of Kearney, Missouri, Rita Brunk of Lancaster, Missouri, and Nancy (Frank) Mihalevich of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Jed Brunk, Jake Brunk, Josee Brunk, Nicole (Jason) Temus, Amber (Todd) Wilcox, Teagan Brunk, Zach (Jaimie) Smiley, Jordan Franks, Mark (Jamie) Glenn), Scott (Marissa) Glenn, Trey (Laura Henke) Patrick, Michelle (Scott) Erickson, and Matt Nance; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Payton, Trapper, Forrest, Savannah, Adrian, Cameron, Rayleigh, Layne, Luke, Leah, Ella, Lola, Tatum, Este, Tatum, and Quien; great-great-grandchildren, Dalyss, and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews that she loved and adored.
The body has been cremated under the direction of Chamberlain Funeral Home, Rock Port, Missouri. There are no services planned at this time. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Arni Memorial Cemetery near Lancaster. Online condolences may be left at www.chamberlainfuneral.com.
