The City of Fairfax Board of Aldermen held a regular meeting June 27, 2024. The meeting was called to order by Ryan Kingery, mayor, at 7:15 p.m. Also in attendance were: Kamron Woodring, Debra Wyatt, and Tabitha Wintz, aldermen; John Brown, Water Superintendent; Christy Stevens, City Clerk; and Terry Miller, City Treasurer.

The tentative agenda was approved.

The aldermen approved the regular minutes of April 17, 2024, and accounts payable.

New Business

Tabitha Wintz mentioned getting dumpsters scheduled for the beginning of August to get town cleaned up before the fair. Christy Stevens, City Clerk, will send an email to Klosek’s to get it scheduled.

Staff Reports

Terry Miller, City Treasurer, reported that all accounts are in balance.

John Brown, Water Superintendent, reported that residents are complaining of the property at 508 North High in Fairfax. Greg Pankal of Helping Hands has been in contact to clean up the property. The city will be looking into a more permanent solution to the problem.

Tree branches around town are hanging low over the streets. The city council will start driving around town and sending letters to properties that need to trim the branches.

John also reported that water meters have been ordered and hopes to complete installation around October or November.

Christy Stevens, City Clerk, reported that there is a sticker on the back of water bills so residents can let her know how they want to receive their bill. She is currently in the process of getting SUBS set up to switch over to.
