Stanley Keith Egbert, the son of Harold Keith and Carol Marie (Wardlow) Egbert, was born July 15, 1956, in Fairfax, Missouri. He attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1974. Stan later attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology in 1995.
On February 6, 1976, Stan was united in marriage to Roseann Stroud in Tarkio. They became the parents of two sons, Joshua and Jason, and made their home in Tarkio until the present time.
Stan was employed as a mechanic in northwest Missouri and in 1990 began working in construction. Later in 2013, he was employed by Tarkio Housing Authority where he worked in maintenance.
Stan was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and served as a Boy Scout Master for Troop 88. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering around in the garage, and spending time with his grandchildren. Stan also enjoyed going on “eating” vacations so he could try new foods. Stan passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, at the age of 67.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife, Roseann Egbert, Tarkio; sons, Josh (Cassey) Egbert, Oregon, Missouri, and Jason Egbert, St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Abigail (Brandon), Colton (Malissa), Ian, Allison (Connor), Dareyen (Taran), Alexis, Draven, Dylan, and Maggie; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Raymond, and Evelynn; brother, Bill (Becky) Egbert, Barnard, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, at the Benton Church, Mound City, Missouri. There is no scheduled visitation. Inurnment will be at the Benton Cemetery, Mound City.
