Joan (Seggerman) Nims, daughter of Bobbie and Elizabeth (Collins) Seggerman, went to the Lord on July 8, 2024. She grew up in Marcus, Iowa, and moved to Ames after graduation. She met the love of her life, Curtis Edward Nims and they married on May 31, 1975. They made their home in Westboro, Missouri, where they raised their four children. Later they moved to Estherville, Iowa. They spent their summers at their cabin on Henderson Lake. Joan enjoyed volunteering, doing puzzles, reading, gardening, and baking for the grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Michelle; and daughter, Nancy Nims.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ed; children, Michael (Lesa) Nims, Charles (Stephanie) Nims, and William (Celeste) Nims; her grandchildren, Staci (Dillon) Sanders, Makayla Nims, Collin Benham, Cecelia Nims, and Lydia Nims; her first great-grandchild, Calvin Sanders; siblings, Bob Seggerman, Pat (Tere) Seggerman, Diane (Doug) Roseberry, Charlotte (Charlie) Fike, Margaret (Doug) Rohwer, Ron Seggerman, Rich (Ann) Seggerman, Randy (Peggy) Seggerman, Stephanie (Dave) Phillips, and Steve (Tammy) Seggerman; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville. Interment was at Walden Grove Cemetery, Westboro. Services were under the direction of Henry Olson Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.henryolsonfuneral.com.
