The Atchison County Library is reaching out to the community to let everyone know what a great resource we have right here in Rock Port, Tarkio, and Fairfax.

Here are some ideas and volunteer opportunities that they would be happy to host! Do you have a hobby or interest you consider yourself an expert in? They would love for you to speak about it to their patrons. Teach a group how to play chess or start a chess club (they have several chess boards), teach a group of teens how to check their oil or tire pressure in their cars, historical or genealogy experts, antique experts, bird watchers, etc. If you home school, please consider the library a classroom for whatever your students need. The library has computers, STEM kits and can arrange a program or craft for whatever subjects you are currently teaching. Would you like to host a book club? They have access to many popular books and will provide your group with discussion questions and self-guided resources plus a great place to host your group. Do you have a Mom/Playdate Group? Schedule a special story time with the Children’s Librarian. The possibilities are endless and your local library is the perfect place to hold these types of events and many more.
